I’ve been a fireman for 9 years and for those 9 years I’ve done everything from mowing yards, moving people into their new homes, fences, decks, and patio covers.  All of these jobs were with fireman owned and operated businesses.  It’s hard to describe the relief on home owner’s faces when we showed up versus some of the contractors they had used in the past. The idea for Hireafirefighter.com came up one day while driving around in the moving truck.  The moving company was new at the time and the owner was having a hard time figuring out his best options for advertising.  I was reflecting on all of the genuinely good guys I worked with at my fire department that owned their own businesses, and how our department alone has just about any type of contractor a homeowner might need.  Then it hit me! There are other contractor websites out there, but they all leave a lot to be desired.  Our goal is to be a more personable website and to give homeowners great companies to choose from when any need may arise.
